Forget the Year of the Rabbit -- 2011 is the Year of BACON!

Denny's proved it this summer: Americans can't get enough of a good thing.
And if you love bacon...

there can never be enough.

This is an updated repost of my Year of the Bacon blog, in honor of International Bacon Day ( thanks, + Jennifer Wells!)

Enjoy!

Yup, you read it right. I said Bacon. As in Bacon Bits, BacO's, Turkey Bacon, ... all things BACON!

SweetSoaps Ellen Cagnassola sells  this bar of Award Winning Authenkitschity Cleanliness on her site.

"A man's dream come true... 'cuz bacon makes the world go 'round"! Good for all my vegetarian friends, since no animal products go into the making of this soap.

Plus, if you're single, males will follow you around and pledge their undying love ... as long as you keep smellin' like bacon!

"The time has come to uncover a new level of awesome."
Bacon by Fargginay. Pronounce 'bay cohn,' just to make you feel better about spending your hard earned cash on something that will make you smell like breakfast. Now, before you dismiss the idea, consider what they base their product development on : uplifting mood by eliciting happy, pleasant memories. Does anybody associate bacon with anything less than yummy, happy, cozy breakfast time? Or summery BLT's? Crispy spinach salads with bacon bits sprinkled on top?
Besides the pig, that is...

Today I found this awesome site Instructables, with this awesome, uh, bouquet. Wonder what to give that great guy that will finally get your 'honey do' list finished, or tickets to 'that thing you love'?  Hint Hint ------ - ->
Show up at the door with a bunch of these babies and a bottle of Bacon Infused Vodka -- yes, vodka + bacon, you read it right -- and there's no telling what you can get away with!

Last, but certainly not least, especially for you Black Dagger Brotherhood Babes out there (You know who You are!)
Chocolate... Bacon...
What's not to love?
Except maybe the price tag, but still...
When you Need Chocolate AND Salty Goodness together, this is worth every penny!

So, to all the gentlemen out there wondering what to put in your lady's Easter Basket, or Mother's Day... or heck, just because...

You're welcome.

Updated for International Bacon Day (thank you +Jennifer Wells of Crescent Moon Press!) I bring you more
Bacon !
YUM!
From notmartha.org, Megan brings us the ultimate in gluten free, low carb, breadless BLT's - the link will take you to a tutorial on how to make these Bacon Cups. Delish!

You can set these out for lunch on Labor Day on these Bacon Mats, offered up by trebuchet03 on Instructables.com:

Edible feeding troughs

Contributors at Instructables just can't control their creative urges when it comes to bacon:

Yes, it's a treasure chest, filled with... cholesterol .

This one I absolutely MUST do:
Yum! A Bacon Bloody... bacon infused vodka, salt rim, tomato juice, and celery. Think I'll take this to Moonlight & Magnolias this month, and just keep celebrating International Bacon Day.
I have searched in the Bottle Shoppes (that's what we call them down here - are there any other euphemisms in your part of the world for Liquor Stores?) and not been able to find Bacon Vodka. Oh, there's every other flavor imaginable, from blueberry to cotton candy, but not bacon. And whenever I ask the gentleman behind the counter, their eyes light up with the promise of new gustatorial libation delight.
Breakfast for the gods...
tiburon4 kindly gives us a recipe for Chocolate Bacon Martini as well.

Nightcap for the gods...

Share what you have discovered for the Year of Bacon below, and ....

Happy International Bacon Day everybody!

A bientot!

keyboardhussy, don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Watched BillyRayCyrus on some morning show last week turn his nose up at the perfume, but when he sniffed it on the cohostess, he practically drooled....
